About this role

Surgery Partners is seeking an RN to manage patient care across the full surgical journey—from pre-operative preparation through post-anesthesia recovery. You'll assess patients before procedures, develop individualized care plans addressing their physical and psychosocial needs, provide education, and monitor them closely as they wake from anesthesia. After surgery, you'll manage pain, evaluate readiness for discharge, and ensure patients and their caregivers understand post-operative instructions and follow-up requirements. The role demands strong clinical judgment, particularly in recognizing complications like respiratory compromise or shock, and the ability to document thoroughly while maintaining compliance with facility, state, and federal standards.

This position requires a current RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing. You'll need comfort with electronic medical records and other healthcare software, along with the ability to stay calm and make sound decisions under pressure. The work is physically demanding—you'll spend most of your time on your feet, lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and perform frequent bending and reaching to provide direct patient care. You should be collaborative, communicate clearly with physicians and surgical teams, and thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment where patient safety is paramount.
