About this role

GCM Grosvenor's Software Engineering Summer Intern role places you on a product-oriented team within a modern engineering organization embedded in a $97 billion alternative asset management firm. Over ten weeks, you'll work on real projects that extend beyond the internship—building applications and solutions that support investment decisions and operational efficiency across the company. You'll participate in Agile ceremonies, collaborate with experienced engineers, and present your work at the program's conclusion. The hybrid schedule requires in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday in Chicago.

The position expects strong fundamentals: object-oriented programming (C#, Python, C++, or Java), SQL and relational databases, web development exposure, and familiarity with Agile and cloud technologies. A 3.5+ GPA and pursuit of a Computer Science or related degree with graduation between December 2028 and Spring 2029 are required. Experience with NoSQL databases, modern frameworks like React or Angular, and automated testing tools will strengthen your candidacy. The firm values curiosity about AI and comfort using AI-enabled tools to solve problems.

This internship suits self-motivated engineers who thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments and want hands-on experience with contemporary software engineering practices—test-driven development, pair programming, continuous integration—in a real financial services context. Note that visa sponsorship is not available, and you must be currently authorized to work in the US without employer support.
