About this role

Carvana's Security Lead role oversees the Safe and Secure team at their Northfield headquarters, managing front desk associates and security operations across the facility. You'd supervise day-to-day activities, develop and coach team members, manage performance, and ensure adherence to security protocols and safety standards. The position requires balancing immediate operational needs with longer-term team development, handling everything from visitor check-in processes to incident management and facility risk assessments.

This role demands someone with at least three years in physical security or loss prevention, plus one year of direct supervisory experience. You'll need strong communication skills to work across departments and external partners, the ability to stay flexible in a fast-moving environment, and crisis management leadership experience. The job is based in-office in Ohio with occasional hours beyond the standard 40-hour week, and pays $60–65k annually.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with both the tactical side of security operations—monitoring technology systems, badge access controls, and incident documentation—and the people leadership side of building a cohesive team culture. If you have security operations background and supervisory experience, and you're drawn to working in a company that values data-driven decision-making and operational excellence, this could be a solid fit.
