About this role

APL Logistics is seeking a Team Lead for its Shepherdsville contract logistics operation on the second shift. You would oversee inbound unloading, outbound loading, and inventory management while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role blends hands-on warehouse work with supervisory responsibilities—you'll perform material handling tasks yourself, coordinate cycle counts and audits, and step in for senior leadership when needed.

Your day-to-day involves planning work schedules, assigning jobs efficiently, and training associates on their tasks through demonstration. You'll also handle process improvements by selecting from established approaches and adapting to shifting priorities. This is a junior specialist position that expects you to make decisions about product acceptance and address safety or quality issues as they arise, while maintaining a professional demeanor with your team.

The position requires one to two years of warehouse or related experience plus two years of forklift and material handling skills with current equipment certification. You'll need basic literacy, math, computer, and data entry competency, along with the ability to lead others. APL offers $21.00 per hour plus shift differential, comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, a 401(k) plan with company contribution, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and an employee assistance program.
