About this role
Walker Meadow Retirement Community's PACE program in Southwest Michigan is seeking a Registered Dietitian to deliver nutrition care to older adults across two locations (Niles and St. Joseph). You'll conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, develop individualized care plans, and provide medical nutrition therapy for chronic conditions—working as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes medical, nursing, and social services staff. The role extends beyond clinical assessments to include home visits to evaluate food access and meal preparation ability, coordination with home care teams, kitchen oversight, and nutrition education for both participants and their caregivers.
This position requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics and an active RD or RDN credential, along with one to two years of clinical nutrition experience preferably in geriatrics or long-term care. You'll need at least one year working with frail and elderly populations, a valid driver's license with reliable transportation for home visits, and ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification (obtainable within six months if needed). A Certified Diabetes Educator credential is desired but not required.
The per diem arrangement offers flexibility alongside benefits including tuition assistance, an annual wellness reimbursement of $120, employer-contributed retirement savings, daily pay options, mileage reimbursement for work-related travel, and a referral bonus program. This role suits someone drawn to geriatric nutrition who values both clinical depth and community-based care coordination.
