About this role

CookUnity's Sustainability Team Member role centers on managing waste streams across their Atlanta kitchen facility—a hands-on operational position that directly supports the company's zero-waste mission. You'll execute daily audits of recycling and compost bins, oversee the sorting and routing of overproduced and waste food to donations, compost, or internal use, and coordinate logistics with nonprofit partners and platforms like Too Good To Go. The work spans facility walkthroughs, contamination control, packaging program management, and daily reporting on waste diversion metrics.

This role suits someone with prior warehouse, food production, or operational experience who is comfortable working in kitchen and production environments and can lift 20+ pounds regularly. You'll need bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (primarily spoken), basic Google Docs/Sheets skills, and experience with a pallet jack; forklift certification is a plus and can be supported on the job. Beyond technical competencies, the position calls for clear communication to reinforce proper waste-sorting behaviors with staff and genuine interest in waste reduction and environmental practices.

The position is full-time at 36–40 hours weekly with weekend availability required, based in Atlanta. The pay is $19 per hour, with final rates determined by your experience and skills.
