About the Job
- Provide effective individual psychiatric care via telehealth in an outpatient setting.
- Provide direct patient care, conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and prescribe medications as clinically appropriate.
- Ensure all patient care is delivered in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical guidelines.
- We are not affiliated with any hospitals or clinics, allowing clinicians the autonomy to practice in the best interest of their patients without unnecessary corporate administrative interference.
- Work within collaborative clinical teams consisting of multiple therapists and a psychiatric prescriber. During onboarding, you will have the opportunity to connect with eligible psychotherapists seeking a prescriber to join their team, with team matching facilitated by BlueSky.
- Participate in regular staffing with collaborating therapists, at least monthly, to discuss patient cases, treatment coordination, and clinical topics.
- Provide clinical services remotely from your home. Days and hours are flexible and determined by the clinician, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Participate in virtual clinical team meetings.
- Attend BlueSky's clinical conferences, which are held four times per week. Attendance is required at least once per week during the first 90 days of employment and once per month thereafter.
Job Requirements
- Must hold an active, unrestricted PMHNP license in at least one of the states we serve: AZ, CO, IA, IL, MA, MD, MN, MS, NC, OH, TN, TX, or WA.
- Must be willing to obtain additional state licenses as needed to support patient access and BlueSky's growing service areas.
- Prior experience working as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is preferred but not required.
- Must not own or operate a private practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of healthcare professionals.
- Strong clinical background in psychiatry and behavioral health.
- Strong knowledge and experience in the assessment and diagnosis of psychiatric disorders and psychopharmacological treatment.
- Familiarity with non-pharmacological and evidence-based behavioral health interventions.
- Strong computer skills and comfort using EHRs, telehealth platforms, and other basic technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to provide patient-centered, evidence-based, and collaborative psychiatric care in a telehealth environment.

BlueSky Telepsych is seeking a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner to deliver individual psychiatric care entirely through telehealth in an outpatient setting. You would conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications while working from home with a flexible schedule that you control—including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice and patient autonomy, with the company deliberately operating independently from hospital or clinic systems to minimize administrative overhead.
The position requires an active, unrestricted PMHNP license in one of thirteen states (including Minnesota) and a strong clinical foundation in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and psychopharmacology. While prior PMHNP experience is preferred, it is not required. You would work within collaborative clinical teams alongside therapists, participating in monthly case discussions and required virtual clinical conferences (at least weekly during your first 90 days, then monthly). The role demands comfort with EHRs and telehealth technology, strong communication skills, and a commitment to collaborative, patient-centered care—but explicitly excludes anyone currently operating a private practice.
The salary range is $70–$95 per hour for full-time employment.
