About this role

HP is seeking a Senior AI Platform System Engineer to lead the development of Windows-based systems that integrate AI capabilities for commercial PCs, with particular emphasis on performance, enterprise manageability, and networking infrastructure. The role combines three specialized areas: designing robust Windows systems for HP's PC platform, architecting networking solutions that support AI workloads, and building enterprise management tools that make AI software discoverable and controllable across organizations. You'd own the full lifecycle of complex software systems—from architecture and design through testing, validation, and deployment—while partnering with internal teams, external developers, and stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into scalable solutions.

This position demands deep expertise in Windows systems engineering, software architecture, and AI infrastructure, ideally backed by seven or more years in systems engineering or related programming work. You should be comfortable with C++, C#, APIs, automation, and cloud platforms like AWS, and familiar with agile development practices. The role emphasizes technical leadership: you'll mentor junior engineers, drive adoption of emerging technologies, conduct performance analysis to identify bottlenecks, and serve as a subject matter expert across cross-functional initiatives. Relevant certifications such as CSSE or CSEP are valued.

The position is full-time and based in Houston, Texas, requiring in-office presence. It suits engineers who thrive in complex, multi-disciplinary environments and want to shape the next generation of enterprise PC technology at scale.
