Fulfillment Center Operations Manager
Outerspace is a new type of Ops Center. We come from the brand side and have built and led operations for companies like Steve Madden, Prada and Nice Laundry. We leverage the latest technology to support our high growth brands and their daily operations. Outerspace provides a number of services including, but not limited to, warehousing and fulfillment, customization and light manufacturing, and product photography.
Outerspace is looking for a dedicated Fulfillment Manager to join our fast-growing team. This person will carry out responsibilities for ensuring operational excellence across multiple clients, delivering high service levels, and driving efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in day-to-day fulfillment activities.
A successful candidate is a proactive, floor-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment, effectively leading teams, solving problems in real time, and ensuring accurate and timely execution of all fulfillment activities.
Reports to: Senior Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee end-to-end fulfillment operations, including receiving, inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping across multiple client accounts
- Ensure all client SLAs and KPIs are consistently met, including order accuracy, on-time shipping, and inventory integrity
- Act as the primary point of contact for client operational needs, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and responsiveness
- Lead and develop warehouse teams, including supervisors and associates, fostering a performance-driven culture
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, and increase throughput
- Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions
- Manage labor planning, staffing, and scheduling to align with volume fluctuations and client demands
- Ensure inventory control best practices, including cycle counts, reconciliations, and root cause analysis
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Client Operations Management, IT, and Finance) to ensure seamless operations
- Support onboarding of new clients, including process design, layout, and system integration
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in fulfillment, warehouse, or distribution operations, preferably within a 3PL environment
- Proven experience managing clients or business units simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of WMS systems and warehouse operational best practices
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams in a high-volume environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills with both internal teams and external clients

You'd oversee the full spectrum of fulfillment activities—receiving through shipping—while managing client relationships, meeting SLAs, and leading warehouse teams through a fast-paced environment. The role reports to a Senior Operations Manager and requires someone equally comfortable on the floor solving real-time problems as they are analyzing metrics and driving process improvements.
This position suits candidates with at least five years in fulfillment, warehouse, or 3PL operations who have managed multiple clients or business units simultaneously. You'll need strong WMS knowledge, proven team leadership in high-volume settings, and the analytical skills to identify operational gaps and implement solutions. A bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
