About this role
At Enviva's Greenwood facility, the Maintenance Manager leads a technician team responsible for keeping a wood pellet production operation running reliably and efficiently. You'll report to the Plant Manager and own the maintenance strategy—developing procedures to minimize downtime, reduce costs, and support production targets. The role blends hands-on technical problem-solving with team leadership: you'll coach technicians and manufacturing operators, drive continuous improvement using TPM frameworks, manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs, and coordinate contracted services like welding and electrical work. Success means increasing equipment uptime, reducing breakdowns, and embedding reliability practices across the shop floor.
This position suits someone with a mechanical foundation and 5–7 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure to TPM or autonomous maintenance systems. You'll need strong people skills—the ability to mentor, motivate, and lead teams through problem-solving—alongside analytical capability to set targets, track metrics like MTBF and OEE, and use data to drive loss reduction. Comfort with shop floor systems (PLC, robotics, monitoring software) and Microsoft Office proficiency are expected; analytical process mapping experience is a plus.
The work is physically and environmentally demanding. You'll spend time outdoors in extreme temperatures, in a hot, humid, noisy industrial setting, and must be willing to lift up to 50 pounds and work around moving machinery. This is an in-office, full-time role with no visa sponsorship available.
