About this role
Citian, a venture-backed SaaS company in Washington, DC, is seeking a Project Manager to own data ingestion and extraction implementations for government transportation clients. You'd manage the full lifecycle of these projects—from contract execution through client training—serving as the primary point of contact between Citian's commitments and its implementation teams. This means translating complex Statements of Work into structured project plans, coordinating with state DOTs, MPOs, and city/county agencies, and navigating the specific rhythms of public sector procurement, including milestone acceptance and change orders.
The role demands someone with at least seven years in enterprise SaaS implementation or technical consulting, plus two years of project management experience and a strong background in data engineering or data science. You'll need to translate technical delivery status into plain language for non-technical stakeholders, own complex multi-stakeholder projects with hard deadlines, and build process where it doesn't exist. Experience with GIS concepts, government software implementations, or transportation/infrastructure planning is preferred but not required.
This is a contract position based in the DC office. The company offers competitive salary, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) matching, commuter benefits, and on-site gym access. If you thrive managing ambiguity across multiple government stakeholders and have the data and SaaS implementation background to back it up, this role offers visibility into a growing startup solving real infrastructure problems.
