Description
At SixSpeed, momentum never really stops — it just shifts gears. And with new opportunities always on the horizon, we like to stay a step ahead.
We're looking to connect with talented Content Producers across a range of experience levels, from mid-level Producers to seasoned Executive Producers, as we continue to grow our Content Production team. Whether you're independently bringing ambitious creative concepts to life or leading complex productions and teams, we want to get to know you.
We're drawn to people who thrive in the thick of it — who can turn chaos into clarity, navigate the unexpected, and make big ideas happen. If that sounds like you, we'd rather start the conversation now than wait until the next opportunity hits.
THE TASK AT HAND
Depending on your experience and expertise, opportunities within our Content Production team may involve:
- Leading the planning, development, and execution of commercial photo and video productions, from initial concept through final delivery.
- Translating ambitious creative ideas into actionable production plans, balancing creative vision with feasibility, budgets, timelines, and resources.
- Taking ownership of complex production challenges, anticipating obstacles, and proactively recommending solutions.
- Managing production budgets, estimates, schedules, staffing, vendors, and logistics across pre-production, production, and post-production.
- Collaborating closely with Creative, Account, Project Management, clients, and external partners to deliver exceptional work.
- Sourcing and managing directors, photographers, cinematographers, editors, freelance crews, talent, and other production partners.
- Overseeing shoots and production activities, including casting, locations, wardrobe, set design, and the creative and technical details that bring a concept to life.
- Guiding projects through post-production, collaborating with editors, colorists, sound designers, and other partners to ensure the final work delivers on the creative vision.
- Navigating changing priorities, evolving client needs, and unexpected production challenges with confidence and adaptability.
- Building strong relationships with production partners, identifying opportunities to improve processes, and contributing to smarter ways of working.
- At more senior levels, providing strategic production leadership, developing and mentoring other Producers, creating clarity across complex productions, and helping build stronger, more scalable ways of working across the Content team.
WHO YOU ARE
- You bring demonstrated commercial content production experience, whether that's independently owning photo and video shoots, managing complex productions, or leading production teams and programs. We're more interested in what you can do than a specific title or number of years.
- You're a natural problem-solver who can take an ambiguous challenge, create clarity, and confidently recommend a path forward.
- You're curious by nature. You want to understand the brand, audience, business, and creative objective behind the work — not just execute what's on the production plan.
- You take ownership of your work, anticipate what needs to happen next, and proactively move work forward while knowing when to pull others in for context, alignment, or support.
- You're an effective communicator who can simplify complexity, align stakeholders, and deliver the right information at the right time.
- You understand the realities of commercial content production, including budgets, timelines, staffing, creative resources, and the tradeoffs required to bring ambitious ideas to life.
- You have a strong understanding of visual storytelling, creative execution, and the technical and logistical considerations of photo and video production.
- You have the judgment to help determine the right production approach for the idea, budget, audience, and channel — and can adapt that approach as the work evolves.
- You're resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable making decisions in fast-moving, high-pressure environments.
- You can move between big-picture thinking and executional details, knowing when each deserves your attention.
- You collaborate effectively across disciplines, build trust with clients and partners, and bring a low-ego, hands-on approach to your work.
- You care deeply about delivering exceptional creative work and continually look for opportunities to improve how the work gets done.
- You have experience building and maintaining relationships with freelance talent, vendors, and production partners.
- You're comfortable supporting productions on set, including travel and occasional evenings or weekends as project needs require.
- At the senior and executive level, you're energized by developing others — providing context, setting clear expectations, giving actionable feedback, and helping Producers grow into greater ownership.
To be what others can’t, you have to do what they won't. We are SixSpeed, a full-service advertising agency that is employee-owned, audience-first, and built to deliver big ideas at speed. We're here to make the world's most adventurous brands impossible to imitate.
We're open to connecting with Content Producers at multiple levels, with compensation aligned to the experience, capabilities, and responsibilities each individual brings to the team.
Anticipated annual salary ranges by level:
- Content Producer: $50,000–$65,000
- Senior Content Producer: $60,000–$85,000
- Executive Content Producer: $80,000–$110,000
These ranges reflect opportunities at different levels, not one predefined position. Actual title, responsibilities, and compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and the scope of the role.
About this role
SixSpeed, an employee-owned advertising agency, is building out its Content Production team and actively recruiting producers at multiple experience levels to own and lead commercial photo and video work. Depending on your background, the role could involve independently managing shoots from concept through delivery, or stepping into a leadership position where you'd guide complex productions, mentor other producers, and help shape how the team operates at scale. The work spans the full production lifecycle—translating creative concepts into feasible plans, managing budgets and logistics, sourcing and directing talent and crews, overseeing shoots, and shepherding projects through post-production.
You'd thrive here if you've built real commercial production experience, whether that's shooting independently or managing teams. The company values problem-solvers who can create clarity from ambiguity, anticipate what comes next, and communicate effectively across creative, account, and client teams. You'll need a strong grasp of visual storytelling, the technical realities of photo and video production, and the judgment to adapt your approach as projects evolve. Comfort with fast-moving environments, resourcefulness under pressure, and a collaborative, low-ego approach matter as much as technical skill.
This is a freelance, in-office role in Minneapolis with compensation tied to your level and capabilities: $50,000–$65,000 for mid-level producers, scaling up to $110,000 for executive-level positions. The actual title and scope will be determined based on what you bring to the table.
