About this role
J&J Snack Foods is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Technician for their Moscow Mills production facility on the 3PM–11PM shift. You'd be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining the electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems that keep their snack food manufacturing running—everything from PLC controls and 480V/208V motor wiring to sensor hardware and equipment modifications. The role requires you to read schematics and ladder logic, collaborate with engineering on reliability improvements, perform hands-on soldering and installation work, and guide maintenance mechanics through complex repairs.
This position demands substantial technical depth: a two-year technical degree or equivalent, at least eight years as a maintenance mechanic, and three years of specialized experience in welding, PLC programming, preventative maintenance, and fabrication. You'll need solid proficiency with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, blueprint reading, VFD programming, and a working knowledge of OSHA regulations and food safety protocols. The ability to work multiple shifts, including weekends and after-hours calls, is required.
The role suits someone with a strong mechanical and electrical foundation who thrives on problem-solving under pressure and can balance routine preventative work with urgent troubleshooting. If you have the certifications and hands-on experience this posting calls for and are comfortable with shift work in a fast-paced production environment, this is a direct fit for an established technician looking for stability with a long-standing snack food manufacturer.
