About this role

Four Hands, a 25-year-old furniture design and wholesale company on Austin's Inc. 5000 list, is looking for a Staff Accountant to support its financial operations as it continues to scale. You'd work in-office in Austin on the full monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycle—preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and maintaining documentation in BlackLine. The role spans general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls, with regular collaboration across Accounting, Finance, and operational teams to resolve issues and support new business activities.

This is a broad-based position that will expose you to multiple areas of accounting. Beyond routine close work, you'll assist with Microsoft D365 system enhancements, help prepare documentation for internal and external audits, and research non-routine transactions under senior guidance. The company values practical problem-solving and process improvement, so you'll have opportunities to recommend workflow refinements and contribute to how the team operates.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of general ledger or corporate accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or high-growth setting, plus a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Strong Excel skills, working knowledge of US GAAP, and experience with ERP systems are expected. A CPA license or commitment to pursuing one is preferred. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, bring strong analytical skills and attention to detail, and work well collaboratively across teams.
