About this role
At The Ritz-Carlton's Washington, D.C. location, the front desk agent serves as the operational and service hub for guest arrivals and departures. You'll manage check-ins and check-outs, process multiple payment types, handle room assignments and key activation, and coordinate with housekeeping to ensure smooth room readiness. The role also involves fielding guest calls and requests, providing local information and directions, managing parking logistics, and running daily financial reports including bank counts and receipt reconciliation.
This is a full-time, in-office position that demands strong attention to detail, comfort with point-of-sale systems, and genuine hospitality instincts. You'll be on your feet for extended periods, balancing administrative tasks with real-time guest interaction. The company emphasizes professional communication, discretion with proprietary information, and adherence to safety and security protocols. No prior hospitality experience is required—a high school diploma or equivalent is the baseline—making this accessible to candidates willing to learn the systems and embrace Ritz-Carlton's service standards.
The role suits someone organized and personable who can juggle multiple priorities: handling cash and payment processing, troubleshooting guest concerns, coordinating across departments, and maintaining composure during busy check-in and check-out periods. If you're detail-oriented, reliable with financial tasks, and genuinely interested in delivering high-touch service, this entry point into luxury hospitality could be a solid fit.
