About this role

Trilon Group's Transportation team in Charlotte is building out its traffic engineering capacity and looking for someone with solid experience in signal design and roadway coordination. If you have 2–6+ years working on NCDOT traffic signal projects—preparing design plans, phasing and timing documentation, and coordination drawings—this role offers a clear path to expand that expertise across a broader range of assignments, from intersection improvements to corridor work and work zone traffic control.

You'd work closely with roadway designers, planners, and senior engineers to develop traffic plans and technical documentation that meet MUTCD and state DOT standards. The position involves field observations, client coordination, and preparation of technical reports for DOT and municipal clients. Proficiency with design software like MicroStation, ORD, or AutoCAD is essential, as is a strong grasp of NCDOT standards and MUTCD guidelines. EIT certification is preferred but not required.

The role is in-office in Charlotte and includes a comprehensive benefits package: competitive health and dental coverage, 401(k) matching, tuition reimbursement, a mentorship program, and dual career tracks (management or technical). You'll need a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related ABET-accredited program.
