About this role
Trilon Group is expanding its Construction Engineering Inspection team across South Carolina and looking for experienced inspectors ready to move into a senior, leadership-focused role. Based in Columbia but with flexibility to work throughout the state, you'd oversee quality control on complex construction projects—conducting rigorous inspections and testing, documenting contractor progress, coordinating with field teams, and ensuring work meets specifications. A significant part of the position involves mentoring junior inspectors and supporting project closeout, working under Project Manager direction.
This role suits someone with substantial hands-on inspection experience who's ready to step into a people-leadership capacity. You'll need proven expertise in field surveying, construction layout, and inspections, along with relevant certifications such as SCDOT, SCDES, or ACI credentials. Strong communication and coordination skills matter as much as technical knowledge, and you should be comfortable with full-time field work and travel across South Carolina.
Trilon provides solid field support—company vehicle, cell phone allowance, boots, and PPE—plus a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) matching, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, and a career development program with both management and technical tracks. The mentorship program and professional development opportunities reflect a commitment to growing your team and your own career.
