About this role

Cottingham & Butler, the nation's third-largest independent insurance brokerage, is recruiting sales interns for a 10-week summer program in Dallas. You'll move beyond classroom learning into the actual work of selling insurance—cold calling prospects, attending client meetings alongside experienced professionals, researching market trends, and collaborating on sales strategies. The firm pairs this hands-on exposure with formal training, mentorship, and networking opportunities designed to build both your industry knowledge and your professional network.

The firm prioritizes character and drive over major or prior insurance experience. They're looking for people who are self-motivated, competitive, and comfortable in team settings—candidates with a track record of achievement in academics or extracurriculars, strong communication skills, and genuine willingness to learn. If you thrive on challenge and want to test yourself in a fast-paced sales environment, this could be a strong fit.

The internship runs May 18 through July 23, 2027, and pays $6,500 with bonus potential. Successful interns have the option to return or transition into a full-time role after graduation. Cottingham & Butler emphasizes a "better every day" culture and invests in developing people who want to grow.
