About this role
CaptiveAire's Chicago service team is hiring commercial HVAC technicians to install, commission, and maintain ventilation and HVAC systems for commercial kitchens and facilities. The role involves hands-on work—commissioning new equipment, diagnosing and repairing existing systems, scheduling service calls, and completing daily job reports and invoicing. You'll work on-site at customer locations, which means climbing ladders to roof access, working in tight spaces like rooftop units, and handling equipment that weighs up to 50 pounds.
The position welcomes both entry-level and experienced technicians. You'll need a solid foundation in HVAC or HVAC/R principles, a working knowledge of electrical systems, and the ability to read commercial wiring schematics. Comfort with hand tools, power tools, and working outdoors in varying conditions is essential. CaptiveAire offers a competitive base salary plus monthly productivity and profit bonuses, a $4,000 sign-on bonus, comprehensive health coverage, retirement matching, and standard paid time off. This is a full-time, in-office role in Chicago with a company that has been a major player in commercial ventilation for over 40 years.
