Description

A career driven by you. Join AutoScout24 Group and experience life in the fast lane. We’re not just leading the market; we’re creating it. We’re constantly innovating, evolving and transforming things for our customers. We’re driven, ambitious and determined to do our best work, together. About the role

We’re hiring two senior software engineers for Autonex Tech Effectiveness (ATE), a team within Core Tech working across business units. We build software that helps engineering teams deliver more effectively and make better use of their resources. Our remit spans cloud and AI spending, software licensing, delivery insights, and the workflows that connect them.

You’ll build AI agents, integrations, and internal products that turn data into useful decisions and actions. You’ll work closely with engineers, engineering leaders, and Finance to understand real problems, ship solutions, and measure their impact. We’re looking for a strong software engineer who is excited about agentic AI and cares about how engineering organizations work.

See what this looks like in practice: AI Teammates for Scrum and FinOps: How AutoScout24 Built Nex and Fyn.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and evolve AI products such as Nex and Fyn, their companion tools, and self-service analytics for engineering effectiveness and FinOps.
  • Design agentic workflows with tool calling, orchestration, retrieval, and memory. Make their actions predictable through clear permissions, human approvals, and auditable execution.
  • Connect engineering and financial data through APIs and reliable data pipelines, integrating with tools such as Slack, Jira, our developer portal, and cloud and AI providers.
  • Build FinOps capabilities for cost attribution, forecasting, anomaly detection, and optimization across cloud, AI, and software spend. Keep financial calculations accurate and traceable.
  • Improve delivery visibility and reduce administrative toil, waiting time, and workflow friction. Help teams understand the balance between operational work and product development.
  • Own products from discovery and design through deployment and operation. Build evaluations, tests, and observability that cover agent behavior, reliability, security, latency, and cost.
  • Work with engineering teams, Finance, Procurement, and Employee Tech to prioritize useful improvements. Use adoption, user feedback, and measurable outcomes to guide what you build next.

What you need to succeed

  • Senior-level software engineering experience, typically 5+ years, building and operating production applications or services, with strong skills in design, testing, debugging, and maintainable code.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications and agentic systems used in real workflows. You can explain the design decisions, failure modes, and trade-offs behind what you’ve built.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one language, ideally Python or TypeScript, and confidence working with APIs, data integrations, and distributed systems.
  • A strong interest in AI and a habit of experimenting, learning, and shipping. Modern AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex are part of your day-to-day work, and you take responsibility for the result.
  • Practical experience deploying and running software in AWS or a comparable cloud, including CI/CD and observability. You can make sensible choices about reliability, security, and operating cost.
  • An interest in engineering effectiveness: developer experience, delivery flow, automation, and responsible use of resources. You want to understand whether a tool improves someone’s work and how to measure that.
  • Clear communication, product thinking, and ownership. You can turn an ambiguous problem into a practical solution and work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience that would help

  • FinOps, cloud cost optimization, engineering analytics, developer experience, or engineering operations. Curiosity and willingness to learn these domains matter too.
  • Agent frameworks, MCP integrations, Amazon Bedrock, or AgentCore. Our current agents use the Strands Agents SDK; experience with other stacks is welcome.
  • Building internal tools, dashboards, or data products that people use to make decisions, and using metrics carefully in their context.

Why this team

You’ll join a small team that uses AI throughout its own work and builds products for colleagues across the business. You’ll have ownership of meaningful problems and room to shape the solutions. Success means tools people trust and use, less time lost to friction, and better decisions about engineering investment.

At AutoScout24 Group, we value diverse perspectives and an inclusive, respectful working environment. If you’re excited to build agentic AI products that improve how engineering works, we’d love to hear from you.

A culture of growth

With over 50 nationalities represented, we’re proud to welcome people of all backgrounds to our growing community, and we’re always finding new ways to help people feel welcomed and included. Here, you’ll have the tools, training and support you need to work in a way that suits you, learn new skills and reach your potential.

About this role

AutoScout24's Autonex Tech Effectiveness team is building AI-powered products that help engineering organizations work smarter—managing cloud and AI spending, software licensing, and delivery workflows. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'd own meaningful problems across the full lifecycle: designing agentic systems with tool calling and orchestration, connecting engineering and financial data through APIs and pipelines, building FinOps capabilities for cost attribution and forecasting, and shipping internal products that teams actually use and trust. You'd work closely with engineers, finance teams, and leadership to turn data into decisions and measure real impact.

This role demands 5+ years of production software experience and hands-on work building LLM-powered applications and agentic systems. You'll need strong coding skills in Python or TypeScript, practical cloud deployment experience (AWS or equivalent), and the ability to design for reliability, security, and cost. Beyond technical depth, you should care about engineering effectiveness—understanding developer experience, delivery flow, and how to measure whether a tool actually improves someone's work. Clear communication and product thinking matter; you'll translate ambiguous problems into practical solutions working across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The team is small and uses AI throughout its own work, giving you real ownership and room to shape solutions. You'd be based in Berlin, working in-office full-time.
