About this role
Atwell is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to direct engineering activities on major oil and gas energy projects—pipelines and facilities—across the US. You'll serve as the primary technical expert and point of contact, managing design work from feasibility through detailed execution, coordinating with clients and external consultants, and overseeing subcontractors and multiple engineering disciplines. The role requires you to balance hands-on technical input at various project stages with leadership responsibilities: supervising team members, identifying critical risks, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards, and maintaining alignment with corporate objectives.
This position suits an engineer with a bachelor's degree in electrical, petroleum, or a related field and ideally a PE license. You should be comfortable working across diverse energy sectors—natural gas, CO2, hydrogen, and RNG pipelines—and staying current with regulatory changes and industry best practices. Travel is expected, and you'll need strong communication skills to liaise between clients, internal teams, and external partners.
Atwell offers a competitive package including base salary of $100,000–$175,000 plus bonus, 401(k) matching, tuition assistance, paid licensing fees, and comprehensive health benefits. The company is privately held with over 2,000 employees across 75 locations and has earned recognition as a "Best Place to Work" for ten consecutive years.
