About this role

Loenbro's Project Engineer Intern role puts you directly into construction operations across multiple industries—electrical, mechanical, structural, and more. Based in Atlanta and working on-site, you'll support project teams through the full lifecycle of job delivery, handling everything from document control and scheduling to budget tracking and site coordination. This is a seasonal position that exposes you to real construction environments, from office work to active jobsites where you'll attend meetings, participate in safety briefings, and interact with field teams and subcontractors.

The role suits someone with a genuine interest in construction and project delivery who can thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven setting. You'll need strong organizational and communication skills, solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the physical capability to work on construction sites—including standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. A background in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred but not required; what matters more is your willingness to learn and your ability to adapt, since you may be assigned to different projects, locations, or service lines based on business needs.

Loenbro offers standard benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, and professional development opportunities, though eligibility varies by employment classification. The internship is structured to give you hands-on insight into how complex projects are planned, coordinated, and executed safely and on budget—valuable experience if you're considering a career in construction or project management.
