About the Role
This is an exciting and entrepreneurial opportunity to join a fast-paced software consolidator with a very significant growth trajectory. The Finance Manager will report into Director, Finance or designate, and will focus on partnering with operating and finance colleagues to support growing high-quality software businesses owned by Banyan Software.
This position is ideal for an individual with the interest and aptitude to be involved in all aspects of finance operations, including revenue recognition, accounts payables and expenses, cash management, financial reporting and analysis, and systems. The finance group also plays a "value added" role by leveraging financial and other data to drive shareholder value.
The Role
- Lead the month-end close process for assigned OpCos, delivering accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
- Supervise and mentor offshore and onsite finance teams, ensuring quality assurance over financial deliverables such as balance sheet reconciliations and revenue recognition.
- Collaborate with leadership to prepare budgets, forecasts, and KPIs, driving informed decision-making and operational performance improvements.
- Manage the integration of newly acquired OpCos, aligning policies and migrating systems.
- Ensure audit readiness by maintaining complete and accurate documentation for internal and external reviews.
- Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and consistency across finance processes.
Qualifications for Success
- CPA or equivalent; 5 years+ of experience in Financial Management.
- Proven track record in Portfolio company management, budgeting, and audits..
- Accounting designation or working towards a designation preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with NetSuite is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Highly motivated and energetic with interest in entrepreneurship, software, and finance.
Compensation - 125,000 CAD and Bonus. Hybrid role (3 days in office), based in Yorkville, Toronto.

Banyan Software is seeking a Finance Manager to support its portfolio of over 120 specialized software businesses across multiple regions. You'd report to the Director of Finance and take ownership of month-end close processes, financial reporting, and compliance with US GAAP for assigned operating companies. The role combines hands-on accounting work—revenue recognition, balance sheet reconciliations, cash management—with team leadership, as you'll supervise both offshore and onsite finance staff and mentor them on quality standards.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA or equivalent designation with five-plus years in financial management, including portfolio company experience and audit exposure. NetSuite familiarity is valued. You'll work hybrid from Banyan's Yorkville office (three days on-site) at a salary of $125,000 CAD plus bonus.
