About this role
At The Ritz-Carlton's Miami property, this role combines active security patrols with monitoring systems and guest assistance to protect both the hotel and its visitors. You'll monitor CCTV and alarm systems, conduct physical inspections of the property, control access points, and respond to incidents ranging from guest lockouts to accidents and disturbances. The position requires you to document all security events, conduct investigations when needed, and coordinate with emergency services. You'll also handle the hospitality side—welcoming guests, addressing their needs, and maintaining the professional standards Ritz-Carlton expects.
The job is physically demanding. You'll be on your feet for extended periods, moving through all areas of the property, sometimes in confined or elevated spaces. You may need to lift up to 50 pounds independently or assist with heavier items, and you'll need to respond quickly to emergencies. The role calls for strong observation skills, the ability to read and verify information on screens and documents, and clear communication with guests and staff. Some states may require additional licensing or certifications beyond a high school diploma.
This position suits someone with a security mindset who can stay alert during routine patrols while remaining composed and service-oriented when handling guest interactions or crisis situations. No prior security or supervisory experience is required.
