Sr. Software Engineer
Job Overview
The primary duty of this position is to design, build, shape, and enhance the always-evolving platform of acquiring, processing, enhancing, and delivering data to customers. This full-stack engineering role spans ingestion, ETL, big data solutions, ultra-efficient APIs, MCP’s and web and mobile applications using AI-assisted development workflows. We build iterative solutions with properly tested code in an environment oozing with team camaraderie, facilitating squad rotation to fulfill both product needs and career growth.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Write clean, testable, and readable code
- Fail fast and use code refactoring in everyday practices
- Handle both routine and complex technical and data challenges
- Build client-facing/internal tools integrated with AI models for an enhanced user experience
- Efficiently ingest, normalize, and transform large amounts of data
- Automate routine and repeated processes wherever possible
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field (or work equivalent)
- In-depth Knowledge in following areas or related technologies and concepts:
- Java, Python, React, and Node.js
- RESTful and GraphQL APIs
- Relational, NoSQL, and Graph databases
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kubernetes
- CI/CD frameworks
- Proficiency in AI integration tools.
- Experience with CPG industry is a plus

- Has experience with, or a passion for the following:
- Test-driven development
- Simple, automatic deployment
- Pair programming
- Ability to communicate with teammates, including Product and Design, about features and technology within your specific domain
Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $175,000.00/year

About this role
SPINS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the full technical stack behind its retail data platform—from data ingestion and ETL pipelines through APIs and client-facing applications. You'll work across Java, Python, React, and Node.js, designing solutions that handle large-scale data processing, integrate AI models, and serve both internal teams and external customers in the health and wellness space. The role demands strong fundamentals: clean, testable code; familiarity with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS; and comfort with modern development practices like test-driven development and CI/CD frameworks. Experience with relational, NoSQL, or graph databases and RESTful or GraphQL APIs is essential.
This is a full-stack position that balances routine technical work with complex problem-solving. You'll automate repetitive processes, refactor code iteratively, and collaborate closely with product and design teams to translate business needs into working features. The team emphasizes pair programming and squad rotation, which means you'll grow your skills across different domains while contributing to both immediate product needs and longer-term platform evolution. CPG industry experience is a bonus but not required.
