About this role
Walker Meadow Retirement Community in Chelsea is hiring a Resident Care Assistant for the 2:30pm–11pm shift at one of their two communities: Towsley Village (memory care) or Glazier Commons (assisted living). This full-time role centers on direct resident support—helping with bathing, dressing, toileting, meals, mobility, and monitoring vital signs. You'll be the responsive presence answering call lights, keeping rooms comfortable, and flagging any changes in resident condition to the care team. The work is hands-on and physical, requiring the ability to safely lift and transfer residents up to 35 pounds.
The position suits someone with a genuine interest in caregiving who may be early in their career; while prior direct care experience is preferred, it's not required beyond a high school diploma. Familiarity with electronic medication administration records is a plus. You'll work a standard 40-hour week with weekend and holiday rotation, earning $18–$22 per hour plus shift differentials ($1.00 between 2:30–10:30pm and weekends; $0.75 after 10:30pm).
Benefits include medical, vision, and dental insurance starting after 30 days, a retirement plan with employer contributions, up to $3,000 annually in tuition assistance, $120 yearly wellness reimbursement, daily pay access, seven paid holidays, a birthday day off, and a $500 referral bonus. You'll also receive a uniform allowance and bonuses tied to attendance and tenure.
