About this role
JRC is seeking a Senior Test & Evaluation Engineer to support the Navy's Nuclear Sea-Launched Cruise Missile (SLCM-N) program—a strategic weapons development effort requiring deep expertise in missile systems, fire control integration, and nuclear surety protocols. This is a full-time, in-office role in Washington, DC working directly with Navy Strategic Systems Programs on a fast-paced acquisition program.
You'll own test planning and design responsibilities, translating operational requirements into comprehensive test objectives, procedures, and reports. Your work will span ground and subsystem testing, modeling and simulation to predict system performance, and hardware-in-the-loop evaluation of fire control systems. The role demands proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering, statistical test design methods, and the DoD acquisition lifecycle—all applied to one of the nation's most critical deterrence systems.
This position requires 10+ years in missile design, fire control integration, and Navy SSP testing, with at least 5 years using MBSE tools. You'll need an active DoD Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred), a bachelor's degree in a related field, and demonstrated expertise in nuclear weapons safety protocols, resource planning, and complex systems analysis. Success depends on balancing independent leadership with strong collaboration, delivering reliable results under mission urgency and incomplete data. If you have specialized cruise missile T&E experience and the clearance already in hand, this role offers direct impact on strategic defense missions.
