About this role
Feldkamp Mechanical, part of the larger Kelso Industries network, is looking for a sheet metal fabricator to produce ductwork and custom components for commercial and industrial HVAC systems. You'd spend your time reading shop drawings, operating equipment like shears, brakes, plasma tables, and presses, then measuring, cutting, bending, and assembling sheet metal to specification. Quality control and accuracy are central to the work—each component must meet project requirements and industry standards before it leaves the shop.
This is a contract position based in Columbus, Ohio, and suits someone with hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication or HVAC manufacturing. You'll need to read blueprints confidently, handle measuring tools, and have the mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot when needed. The role also involves material handling, equipment maintenance, and coordination with supervisors and field teams to keep projects on schedule. Familiarity with SMACNA standards or forklift certification would strengthen your candidacy, though the core requirement is a high school diploma and proven fabrication experience.
Feldkamp offers competitive pay scaled to experience, medical and dental coverage, a 401(k) match, paid time off, and opportunities for skill development within a stable, established contractor. The work is in-office and physically demanding—you'll be lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
