About this role
At Ascension's Appleton hospital, this full-time Patient Care Technician role centers on direct patient support—helping people with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities while maintaining their dignity and comfort. You'll be the eyes and ears for the nursing team, reporting any changes in a patient's physical, mental, or emotional condition so clinical staff can respond quickly. Documentation is a core part of the work: you'll record vital signs, care activities, and observations to keep patient records accurate and complete for continuity of care.
The role also requires you to maintain the patient environment itself—keeping rooms clean, organized, and properly stocked, and ensuring medical equipment is ready and functioning. You'll need Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry certification and BLS certification (obtained within 30 days of hire), plus a high school diploma or equivalent or one year of relevant job experience. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who finds purpose in direct patient care and communicating effectively with clinical teams in a hospital setting.
