ABOUT ARVA

Arva Intelligence is an agricultural data and environmental asset company headquartered in Houston. We help growers, agribusinesses, and energy companies turn on-farm practices into measurable value through Scope 3 carbon insetting, 45Z clean fuel tax credit intermediation, carbon removals through Arva Natural Capital, and our data and SaaS platform.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Finance Associate to join a small, high-impact finance team. You will work directly with the CFO on capital raising, financial modeling, investor and board materials, and transaction analysis. Our accounting team owns the close, reporting, and controls. This role owns the forward-looking finance work. You will have real exposure to leadership, the board, and investors from day one.

The ideal candidate comes from investment banking or private equity as an analyst ready to move into a corporate finance role and put their financial modeling skills to work at an early-stage company. This is path that may lead to a CFO opportunity in the future.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Maintain the company's three-statement financial model, including revenue builds for each business line, scenario analysis, and long-range forecasts
  • Support equity and debt capital raises: investor presentations, data room management, offering document support, dilution and returns analysis, and investor diligence requests
  • Build pricing and deal economics models for carbon, environmental asset, and 45Z tax credit transactions
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly board materials, KPI dashboards, and management reporting
  • Assist with the annual budget and rolling forecast process in partnership with department heads
  • Produce 13-week cash flow and working capital forecasts with the accounting team
  • Analyze unit economics, margins, and customer profitability across revenue streams
  • Evaluate strategic alternatives, partnerships, and potential acquisitions
  • Take on ad hoc analysis for the CFO and executive team

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or as a finance analyst or associate at a PE or VC backed company
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
  • Strong financial modeling skills: three-statement models, DCF, returns analysis, and scenario-driven forecasts built on clean input drivers
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable with Google Sheets
  • Working knowledge of GAAP financial statements
  • Ability to turn analysis into clear, concise materials for executives, boards, and investors
  • Ownership mentality and comfort with ambiguity in a growth-stage company

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience in agriculture, energy, renewable fuels, carbon markets, or environmental commodities
  • Familiarity with tax credit structures, project finance, or structured transactions
  • Exposure to a capital raise or M&A process from the company side

WHY ARVA

  • Direct mentorship from the CFO and visibility with the board and investors
  • Broad scope across capital markets, strategy, and operations
  • A chance to help build a company at the intersection of agriculture, energy, and climate

COMPENSATION

Competitive base salary of [$150,000] plus annual bonus and equity. Work arrangement: on-site in Houston, TX.

Benefits

  • stock options
  • bonus

About this role

Arva Intelligence is seeking a Finance Associate to own the forward-looking financial work for an early-stage agricultural data and environmental asset company. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll build and maintain three-statement financial models, support capital raises with investor materials and diligence responses, develop pricing models for carbon and tax credit transactions, and prepare board dashboards and management reporting. This is a corporate finance role designed for someone transitioning from investment banking or private equity—someone with strong modeling skills who's ready to apply them at a growth-stage company rather than continue in deal advisory.

The ideal candidate has two to four years of analyst or associate experience in banking, PE, or a VC-backed company, with demonstrated proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling fundamentals like DCF and scenario analysis. You'll need a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics, working knowledge of GAAP, and the ability to synthesize analysis into clear materials for executives and boards. Experience in agriculture, energy, carbon markets, or structured transactions is a bonus but not required.

You'll have direct mentorship from the CFO and board visibility from day one, with exposure across capital markets, strategy, and operations. The role offers a $150,000 base salary plus annual bonus and equity, and is based in Houston on a full-time, in-office basis. This path can lead toward a CFO opportunity as the company scales.
