About this role
Olsson's Site Design team is looking for a Civil Design Technician to support the planning and design of mixed-use, commercial, residential, and industrial development projects across multiple project types. In this role, you'll work primarily in AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare design documents, process calculations, and create construction drawings—starting with supervisor guidance and gradually taking on independent work. You'll handle tasks ranging from annotation and plan publishing to maintaining project files and incorporating design changes, with occasional responsibility for directing less experienced staff and attending client meetings or construction sites.
This position suits someone with an associate degree in drafting and prior drafting experience who is comfortable working collaboratively and taking ownership of their contributions. You should have strong communication skills and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, though the company is willing to work with candidates who have foundational drafting skills. The role is based in Grand Island, Nebraska and requires in-office work, including potential site visits in varying weather and terrain conditions.
Olsson offers a competitive benefits package including 401(k) matching, health insurance, paid time off, and a performance bonus system, along with opportunities for career development and flexible work arrangements where possible.
