About this role

DLR Group's Regional Electrical Engineering Discipline Leader role combines technical design leadership with operational management across a diverse portfolio of sectors—from higher education and healthcare to cultural institutions and justice facilities. You would oversee the electrical engineering discipline for the Orlando region, directing teams through the full project lifecycle from concept through construction, with hands-on responsibility for power, lighting, low-voltage, and fire alarm systems on complex buildings. This position demands both depth in BIM-based design (particularly Revit MEP) and breadth in business operations: workplanning projects for profitability, managing staff allocation and professional development, and ensuring quality control across all deliverables.

Success in this role requires at least ten years designing electrical building systems on complex projects, plus demonstrated experience leading engineering teams. You'll need a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering and should be comfortable moving between technical work and leadership responsibilities—mentoring staff, interfacing with clients, supporting business development, and collaborating across integrated design disciplines. A PE license, LEED accreditation, and familiarity with sustainable design practices are valued but not required. The position is based in Orlando with a four-day in-office expectation, and you'll be joining a 100% employee-owned firm committed to collaborative, value-driven design.
