About this role

IMC's Middle Office team is looking for an Operations Analyst to support the core mechanics of their trading operation—reconciling trades, settling positions, and ensuring accuracy across platforms. You'd spend your days performing intraday and next-day reconciliations, calculating P&L, identifying and resolving settlement breaks, and working directly with trading and IT teams to keep the trade lifecycle running smoothly. The role also involves managing accounts, monitoring margin and collateral, and building reports from large datasets, with a strong emphasis on finding ways to automate and improve processes.

This is a foundational position designed to develop you into a go-to resource within the Middle Office. You'll need a quantitative background (degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field), 2–5 years in financial markets or a trading environment, and strong Excel skills. Series 99 or 7 certification is required or must be obtained within your first year. Experience with trading or technology groups and solid analytical problem-solving are essential; technical skills like SQL, VBA, or Python are a bonus. The role demands someone who can manage multiple priorities under pressure, communicate clearly across departments, and maintain a continuous improvement mindset.

The position is full-time and in-office in Chicago, with a base salary of $100,000–$140,000 plus discretionary bonus and benefits. Note that immigration sponsorship is not available for this role.
