Summary
Morgan & Morgan is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Trial Attorney to join its quickly growing practice of plaintiff's personal injury lawyers and supporting case staff in our growing Raleigh office.
This Trial Attorney will handle a heavy and complex case load from pre-litigation, litigation, trial prep and trial. Cases may include representing plaintiffs in motor vehicle and trucking accidents.
Our law firm's generous and competitive compensation includes a base salary, guaranteed commission, and competitive ongoing commission fees / bonuses (uncapped), as well as a full benefits package. Additionally, each litigator will have a large case staff assisting them, including a dedicated paralegal and a dedicated legal assistant.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day handling of both pre-litigation and litigation cases
- Drafting and filing of litigation documents to include pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, motions and memoranda of law
- Guide plaintiff clients through the case process
- Interaction with expert witnesses to include conferences, drafting of expert reports and affidavits
- Attendance and preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances
Qualifications
- Law degree (J.D. / JD / Juris Doctor) from a fully accredited law school
- An active member in good standing with the State Bar Association (NC required)
- Minimum 3+ years of personal injury / premises liability experience
- Ability to manage high volume of pre-lit and litigation cases
- Excellent client service and communication skills
- Self-starter driven by long-term career goals
- Superior writing and oral advocacy skills

About this role
Morgan & Morgan's Raleigh office is expanding its personal injury practice and seeking an attorney with at least three years of experience in personal injury or premises liability work. You would manage a substantial caseload across the full litigation lifecycle—from pre-suit through trial—handling motor vehicle and trucking accident cases. Your day-to-day work includes drafting pleadings and discovery documents, guiding clients through the process, coordinating with expert witnesses, and preparing for and attending depositions, mediations, and court appearances. You'll have dedicated paralegal and legal assistant support to help manage the volume.
This role is built for someone who wants genuine trial experience. Morgan & Morgan distinguishes itself by actually taking cases to trial; the firm tried 320 cases last year and plans to double that number. You would be expected to gain frequent courtroom exposure both on your own cases and your colleagues'. The firm provides world-class case management software and litigation resources to support that work. Compensation includes a base salary, guaranteed commission, and uncapped ongoing commission, plus a full benefits package with medical and dental insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and paid holidays.
You must hold a J.D. from an accredited law school and maintain active membership in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar. The position requires strong writing and oral advocacy skills, the ability to manage high case volume, and excellent client communication. This is an in-office role in Raleigh.
