About this role
Walker Meadow Retirement Community is hiring a Shahbaz (CNA) for its Green House Homes in Grand Rapids—a role that blends traditional nursing assistant duties with a broader commitment to creating a home-like environment for elderly residents. Beyond the standard hands-on care like bathing, grooming, and mobility support, you'll also contribute to meal preparation, housekeeping, and laundry, all designed to foster dignity and independence. The position requires you to monitor vital signs, respond promptly to resident needs, collaborate with nursing teams on care plans, and maintain detailed records in PointClickCare.
This is a full-time, second-shift role (2pm–10:15pm, Monday through Friday with every-other-weekend rotation) paying $21.97–$24.10 per hour, which includes a $3.40 hourly pass-through from Michigan's Skilled Nursing Facility Direct Care Worker program through September 2027. You'll need a current Michigan CNA certification, direct care experience with elderly populations, and the physical capability to lift, transfer, and support residents. The schedule offers no mandatory shift swaps, and weekend hours earn a $0.50 premium.
The position includes medical, vision, and dental insurance beginning the month after hire, a retirement savings plan with employer contributions, tuition assistance, $120 annual wellness reimbursement, generous PTO with six paid holidays, and access to daily pay. A $500 referral bonus is available if you bring qualified candidates to the team.
