About this role
Pivotal Solutions is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to build and maintain web applications that serve their business needs from front end to back end. You'd work primarily with Python and JavaScript across the stack, using frameworks like React, Node.js, and Flask, alongside relational databases like MySQL and Postgres. The role emphasizes scalability, performance, and security—you'll be expected to follow industry best practices, evaluate emerging technologies, and troubleshoot complex issues as they arise.
This is an in-office position in Detroit that requires someone with substantial full-stack experience, ideally with exposure to financial services. Beyond coding, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into solutions, participate in daily stakeholder meetings, and contribute to technical documentation. You should be comfortable with version control, Agile workflows, RESTful APIs, responsive design principles, and cybersecurity fundamentals. Strong communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously are essential.
