About this role
Pivotal Solutions is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Anchorage on a full-time, in-office basis. You'd own the financial reporting function—preparing monthly and annual statements under GAAP, managing balance sheet reconciliations, and flagging discrepancies—while supporting broader finance operations including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger work. The role also involves coordinating with external auditors, ensuring sales tax compliance, and collaborating with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and cost reduction initiatives.
This position is built for someone with at least five years of accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing, where cost accounting principles are second nature. You'll need a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, solid proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities under deadline pressure. Beyond technical competency, the role values analytical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and clear communication—you'll be developing new procedures to streamline the department's workflow and presenting financial insights to leadership.
If you have manufacturing accounting experience and enjoy the detail work of financial statement preparation and analysis, this is a direct fit. If your background is primarily in other industries or you prefer advisory work over transactional accounting, it may be worth considering carefully.
