About this role
At The Ritz-Carlton's Los Angeles property, this role bridges front-line hospitality and operational leadership. You would oversee the rooms area departments—housekeeping, front office, and engineering—while managing a team responsible for translating guest satisfaction goals into daily execution. The position requires balancing staff motivation and development with the practical demands of scheduling, compliance, and service recovery, often stepping in to perform hourly duties when needed.
The ideal candidate brings either four years of hands-on experience in guest services, front desk, or housekeeping roles, or a hospitality-focused degree paired with two years in a related area. You'll spend significant time on people management: conducting one-on-one meetings, participating in hiring, addressing employee concerns with an open-door approach, and ensuring fair application of property policies. Simultaneously, you'll monitor financial performance through activity reports and quality audits, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and maintain the brand's service standards across all guest interactions.
This is a full-time, in-office position suited to someone who has worked in hotel operations and is ready to move into management while staying connected to the day-to-day realities of rooms operations. Success depends on your ability to lead by example, communicate clearly across departments, and drive continuous improvement in both guest and employee satisfaction.
