About this role
Ascension's Indianapolis finance operations team needs a director who can manage the full cycle of financial stewardship for a large healthcare organization. You'd own the month-end close process, lead budgeting and forecasting across the system, and evaluate business cases for new ventures and growth. A significant part of the role involves partnering with department heads on major capital projects—translating financial strategy into operational reality while protecting margins and maximizing returns.
This position requires at least five years of progressive financial experience in healthcare, with a minimum of three years leading a team. The baseline qualification is a high school diploma plus five years of relevant work experience (two in management), though Ascension prefers candidates with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and an MBA. If you have healthcare finance leadership experience and the ability to move fluidly between detailed close work and strategic business modeling, this role offers the scope to shape how a major nonprofit health system allocates capital and manages financial risk.
