About this role
Kelso Building Services is building out its BAS service operation across the country and is looking for a senior technician who can handle the full scope of building automation work—from troubleshooting and repair to system optimization and customer strategy. You'd work with commercial, healthcare, industrial, and mission-critical facilities, diagnosing complex HVAC and controls issues both in the field and remotely through KBS's Digital Operations Center. The role blends hands-on technical work with mentoring junior technicians and identifying opportunities to expand service agreements and system improvements for your assigned accounts.
This position suits someone with at least three years of BAS service experience and solid HVAC troubleshooting skills who wants to grow beyond pure field work. You'll need to be comfortable reading control drawings, commissioning DDC systems, and working across multiple platforms—Niagara, Metasys, Destech, and others. Experience with networking, remote access, or OT cybersecurity is a plus. The company offers a company vehicle, medical and dental coverage, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and will fund training and certifications as you advance.
The role is based in Houston but remote-capable, paying $35–$45 per hour depending on your experience and certifications, with overtime and performance incentives available. This is a good fit if you're looking to leverage remote diagnostics and analytics alongside field expertise while building deeper customer relationships at a growing firm.
