About this role

At Otterbein SeniorLife's Jackson retirement community, this full-time role combines food preparation and service in a senior living environment where you'll work regular daytime hours with no late-night shifts. You'll prepare and plate meals according to standards, serve residents and guests courteously, manage the tray line, restock supplies, and handle dishwashing and kitchen sanitation. The work requires close collaboration with the nursing department and a genuine commitment to resident care—reliability, a positive attitude, and attention to detail matter as much as technical skill.

The ideal candidate has some food service experience, ideally in long-term care, though entry-level applicants with a high school diploma or GED are welcome. You'll need to maintain health and safety standards, handle cleaning chemicals responsibly, and interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff across varying situations while respecting confidentiality.

Otterbein offers solid benefits for full-time staff, including medical, dental, and vision coverage; immediate PTO accrual; a 401(k) match; and tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 annually for any field of study. Additional perks include pet insurance, an employee assistance program, access to professional development resources, and partnerships with local universities for education discounts.
