About this role
Working game nights for the Washington Capitals Radio Network, you'd support both broadcast and social media operations during the 2026-27 season. Your responsibilities span the full game cycle: posting pregame content and player interviews to social channels, gathering NHL information and in-game stats for the radio host, delivering on-air reports during intermissions and for podcasts, and collecting postgame audio from locker rooms. It's a hands-on role that touches multiple aspects of sports radio production.
This position suits someone with at least some background in journalism, radio, PR, or communications who thrives in fast-moving environments and can juggle multiple tasks at once. You'll need strong communication skills—both written and verbal—attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team. The schedule requires you to be available for at least 90 percent of home games, typically 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., making it ideal for someone seeking seasonal or part-time work around other commitments.
The role pays $18.40 per hour and offers direct exposure to professional hockey operations and broadcast production within one of the country's largest sports and entertainment organizations.
