- Monitor and calendar litigation deadlines, court dates, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other critical case events.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organized electronic case files in Filevine.
- Prepare, draft, proofread, and organize pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, correspondence, and other litigation documents for attorney review.
- Assist with drafting and responding to written discovery, including requests for production, interrogatories, and requests for admissions.
- Coordinate service and filing of documents and assist with Texas e-filing requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, insurance representatives, contractors, public adjusters, experts, and other third parties as needed.
- Maintain regular, proactive communication with clients, providing meaningful updates on case status, upcoming milestones, outstanding documents, and next steps.
- Collect information and documentation from clients and consistently follow up on outstanding items.
- Take a proactive approach to case management, anticipating what each case needs next, identifying potential issues, and communicating concerns to the appropriate attorney or team member.
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and other members of the litigation team to help achieve the best possible outcome for our clients.
- Obtain world domination.

About this role
Hair Shunnarah Trial Attorneys' Insurance Claim HQ is building out its plaintiff property litigation practice in Louisiana and seeking a paralegal with hands-on Texas civil litigation experience to support policyholders in insurance disputes. You'd manage cases involving storm damage, fire losses, water damage, and other significant property claims from pre-suit through resolution, handling the full range of paralegal work: organizing case files in Filevine, drafting and reviewing pleadings and discovery, calendaring deadlines, coordinating with courts and third parties, and ensuring clients stay informed at every stage.
This role rewards someone who takes ownership and thinks ahead. Rather than waiting for assignments, you'd anticipate what each case needs next, flag potential issues early, and communicate proactively with both attorneys and clients. You'll need at least one year of Texas civil litigation experience—property and casualty background is strongly preferred, though other civil litigation counts. Comfort with Texas court procedures, e-filing, and document drafting is essential.
The firm offers full health, dental, and vision coverage, generous PTO, a 401(k) with 3% match, and genuine growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding organization. While the Metairie office is the preference, they're open to Texas-based candidates who meet the experience requirement. Salary ranges from $55,000 to $75,000 annually.
