About this role
Latitude AI, Ford's autonomous vehicle subsidiary, is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to support its growing fleet of hybrid and electric vehicles at its Allen Park location. This one-year contract role sits within the Service Operations team and involves hands-on maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on vehicles equipped with advanced driver assistance and autonomous systems. You'll document findings accurately, troubleshoot issues using diagnostic hardware and software, and validate the functionality of ADAS, autonomous, and EV systems while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
The position requires a high school diploma or GED plus two years of professional vehicle experience, with garage work preferred. You should be comfortable working independently and in teams, proficient with vehicle diagnostic tools, and able to communicate clearly about electrical and electronic systems. The role involves light-to-moderate physical demands—standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and detailed hands-on work—plus occasional travel (up to 15%) for training or support at other locations. A valid driver's license and passing background checks, including motor vehicle records and drug screening, are mandatory.
If you have experience with electric or hybrid vehicles, autonomous safety equipment, wiring systems, or automotive control modules, those skills would strengthen your candidacy. Familiarity with Google Suite and data collection software is a bonus. This is a hybrid position, so you'll split time between the Allen Park office and remote work.
