About this role
JRC is seeking a Cyber Testing Engineer to support the Navy's Nuclear Sea-Launched Cruise Missile (SLCM-N) program, a high-stakes acquisition development effort requiring someone who bridges test and evaluation rigor with deep cybersecurity expertise. You'll develop and execute comprehensive test plans for cybersecurity assessments, coordinate integrated testing across developmental, operational, and contractor phases, and deliver detailed technical reports to both technical and non-technical audiences. This is a contract position based in Washington, DC, working in-office on a fast-paced program where mission accountability and collaborative problem-solving are essential.
The role demands substantial hands-on experience in embedded systems security, threat analysis, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessment using tools like ACAS and HBSS. You'll need at least five years in missile design and testing—ideally cruise missile experience—combined with knowledge of live fire T&E procedures, cyber defense mechanisms, and the DoD acquisition lifecycle. A bachelor's degree and active DoD Secret or DoE clearance are required; a DoD 8140/8570 certification (such as CISSP at IAM Level III) and TOP SECRET clearance are highly valued.
This position suits someone comfortable working with incomplete data and competing priorities, capable of breaking down complex technical problems and leading independently while thriving in a team environment. Your ability to analyze test data, identify system vulnerabilities, and communicate findings clearly will directly support a mission-critical weapons system program.
