About this role
GetYourGuide's infrastructure team is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own the design, scaling, and reliability of the platform that powers their travel experiences business. You'd work with AWS, Kubernetes, and Istio to build systems that handle millions of users while enabling other engineering teams to move fast and experiment safely. The role spans infrastructure automation, cluster management, custom controller development, and production on-call responsibilities—essentially acting as a force multiplier for the broader engineering organization.
This position suits someone with solid hands-on experience running Kubernetes at scale, strong Linux fundamentals, and the ability to code in Go or similar languages. You'll need to diagnose production issues quickly, understand networking and container technology deeply, and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-infrastructure teams. The team values pragmatism, including thoughtful use of AI tools to reduce toil, alongside genuine care for system reliability and team collaboration.
The hybrid setup is based in Zurich or the Netherlands with three required office days per week, though you can work remotely anywhere for 30 days annually. Beyond standard benefits, GetYourGuide offers a personal growth budget, quarterly team events, and transportation and fitness allowances.
