About this role
Walker Meadow Retirement Community in Chelsea is hiring a part-time Resident Care Assistant for their memory care unit, working evenings and rotating weekends. This role centers on direct resident support—helping with bathing, dressing, toileting, meals, mobility, and monitoring vital signs. You'll be the responsive presence answering call lights, maintaining comfortable living spaces, and flagging any changes in resident condition to the care team. The work is physically demanding, requiring the ability to safely lift and transfer residents up to 35 pounds.
The position calls for a high school diploma and a genuine comfort with hands-on caregiving, though prior experience isn't required. Familiarity with electronic medication records systems is a plus. At 16 hours weekly on a 2:30pm–11pm schedule, this suits someone seeking part-time work with evening availability and willingness to cover weekend and holiday rotations. Shift differentials apply after 10:30pm and on weekends.
Beyond the base pay of $18–$22 per hour, the role includes competitive part-time benefits starting after 30 days: vision and mental health coverage, a retirement plan with employer contributions, daily pay access, paid time off including seven holidays and a birthday day, and tuition assistance up to $3,000 per semester. There's also a $500 referral bonus and bonuses tied to attendance and tenure.
