About this role

Peregrine Health is looking for an Accounting Manager to take hands-on ownership of financial operations in Nashville. You'd manage the full accounting cycle—general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, and month-end close—while supervising accounting staff and presenting monthly results to the executive team. A significant part of the role involves grant administration: tracking federal awards, monitoring compliance under Uniform Guidance, preparing grant reports, and serving as the organization's named Grant Financial Manager with approval authority. You'd also coordinate external audits and tax work, maintain internal controls, and handle special projects as the company scales.

This role requires a bachelor's degree in accounting and at least five years of progressive experience, with specific expertise in grant management accounting and federal compliance audits. You'll need hands-on knowledge of multi-entity accounting and consolidations (particularly structures with management services agreements), strong U.S. GAAP foundation, and solid Excel skills. A CPA, prior audit experience, and familiarity with NetSuite and Rippling are valued. Healthcare or nonprofit background is a plus given the grant-heavy nature of the work.

The position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and is full-time, in-office in Nashville. It's a good fit if you've worked in grant-funded environments, managed audits from the client side, and want a role where you're building financial infrastructure for a growing organization rather than maintaining a static function.
