About this role
Dispatch Bio is seeking a Senior Scientist to build and manage the operational infrastructure for analytical testing across its pipeline of viral vectors and CAR T cell therapies. Based in Philadelphia and reporting to the Associate Director of Analytical & Product Sciences, you would serve as the operational backbone connecting internal labs, contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs), and contract testing labs (CTLs). This is a hands-on role that blends project coordination, lab management, and scientific execution—you'll own everything from scheduling and sample logistics to data tracking systems and method validation oversight.
The ideal candidate has deep CMC experience in cell and gene therapy or large molecule development, with demonstrated proficiency across multiple analytical platforms (qPCR, flow cytometry, HPLC, cell-based assays, and others). You'll need at least 5 years in industry with a Ph.D., 8 years with a Master's, or 10 years with a Bachelor's degree. Beyond technical chops, this role demands strong organizational systems thinking—you should be comfortable designing inventory and data-tracking tools, managing lab supplies and reagents, and coordinating complex testing schedules across multiple sites. Familiarity with ELN systems, LIMS, and experience working with external partners on method transfers and MSAs are essential.
This is a contract position suited for someone who thrives in early-stage biotech environments where ownership and cross-functional collaboration are non-negotiable. You'll report directly into leadership, communicate status and issues clearly to stakeholders at all levels, and maintain hands-on lab competency while managing operations. The role offers the chance to directly impact how a mission-driven team executes on cancer immunotherapy development.
