Description

Hubble Network was founded with the intention of delivering on the promise of what Internet-of-Things (IoT) was supposed to be. We're building a global Bluetooth® network dedicated to machine-to-machine connectivity. We differentiate ourselves as the first modem-less and gateway-less, direct-to-satellite network from off-the-shelf Bluetooth® Low Energy chips. Hubble is ideal for applications in logistics, AgTech, and maritime where economies of scale for volume consumer and enterprise asset tracking is a priority. Our goal is to be the first billion-endpoint-connected network in the world.

Hubble is an early-stage, venture-backed startup supported by some of the best investors in the world. In their previous lives, the founding team has been successful in raising $100s of millions in venture funding, developing the Amazon Sidewalk network, launching billions of dollars of space assets, and leading their teams to successful exits, both through acquisition and IPO. We are now looking to bring on talented team members who are the best at what they do to help us make Hubble a reality for the world.

This is an onsite, full-time position based in Seattle, WA.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Radio Frequency (RF) Test Engineer at Hubble, you'll help ensure the reliability, performance, and longevity of our satellite hardware. You'll develop and execute the test, validation, and quality-assurance strategies that qualify our wireless payloads, uncover weaknesses, and prove that our hardware can thrive in the harshest environments space has to offer — including radiation, thermal cycling, and mechanical stress. Your work will span the full lifecycle — from design validation through flight readiness and into volume production — and will be central to scaling reliable, mission-ready hardware as we build out the Hubble satellite constellation. You'll work closely with cross-functional hardware, software, and mechanical teams to ensure reliability from initial design through manufacturing and in-orbit operation.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS

  • A Sense of Urgency: Lead projects from concept to reality, rapidly and effectively
  • First Principles Engineering: Have a strong understanding of the whys behind the "what's"; have the ability to extrapolate from first principles to complex system design
  • High Learning Agility: Love to learn; have a grounded approach to recognizing your weaknesses and take the initiative to brush up on and sharpen your engineering foundations to better collaborate with your teammates with different backgrounds
  • System-Level Design and Analysis: Understand the requirements flow down process and be able to quickly iterate on evolving requirements
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effectively convey ideas and communicate technical topics with engineering, build staff, and operations; run self-directed design reviews and participate in reviews of parallel systems
  • Anticipation of Needs: Identify problems, think creatively, and rapidly produce reliable and cost-effective solutions to meet the ever growing and changing needs of an early-stage company

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in hardware validation, test engineering, or RF systems testing
  • Experience in design, testing, and debugging of RF PCBAs, coupled with a thorough understanding of electronics reliability and failure mechanisms
  • Experience with test equipment (oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator) and procedures for analysis, verification, and validation of RF products
  • Strong expertise in programming languages (Python, C/C++) for data analysis and test automation
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct root-cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions, with an emphasis on RF systems
  • Thorough understanding of metrology, sources of measurement error, and uncertainty analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze system requirements, decompose them into verifiable test cases, and maintain bidirectional traceability using industry-standard tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment

STRONGLY DESIRED

  • Experience with environmental testing such as thermal, vibration, and TVAC
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing, assembling, and testing of electronic components
  • Experience developing automated test systems and test fixtures for production environments
  • Experience analyzing the impact of radiation on electronic components and strategies to mitigate it
  • Familiarity with NASA and MIL-spec test and workmanship standards for space hardware (e.g., MIL-STD-810/883, NASA/IPC J-STD-001ES)

About this role

Hubble Network is building a direct-to-satellite Bluetooth network for IoT connectivity, and this role sits at the intersection of hardware reliability and space operations. As an RF Test Engineer, you'd own the validation and qualification strategy for the satellite payloads that will form their constellation—developing and executing tests that prove the hardware can survive radiation, thermal cycling, mechanical stress, and the full lifecycle from design through production and orbit. You'd work across hardware, software, and mechanical teams to catch weaknesses early and ensure mission readiness at scale.

The position demands strong fundamentals in RF systems testing, electronics reliability, and test automation. You'll need hands-on experience with standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers), proficiency in Python or C/C++ for test scripting, and the ability to conduct rigorous root-cause analysis. Experience with environmental testing, high-volume manufacturing, radiation effects, and NASA/MIL-spec standards would be valuable assets. The role requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field and at least three years in hardware validation or RF testing.

This is an in-office, full-time position in Seattle with a salary range of $105,000–$175,000 based on experience. The company is early-stage and venture-backed, so you'd be working in a fast-moving environment where urgency, first-principles thinking, and cross-functional collaboration are core expectations. Note that ITAR compliance requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
